Jim Darcy is the most concerned politician when it comes to Valley Stream and other council districts. He was brought up right here and attended school here. Whatever decision he makes is carefully and fully thought through. He does not leave any stone unturned.

Now, after more than seven months have elapsed and on the eve of another critical local election, I believe that it is appropriate and helpful that I offer some reflections and views based on my experience. School just opened. SATs are being given, Advanced Placement courses have started. Pressure on the students to excel increases more each year. Those who excel seem on the road to success if they can afford higher education and the huge debt it generates.

Last week a letter written by Peter Panzarino appeared in the Herald (“A case of sour grapes”). Mr. Panzarino made several accusations which require rebuttal. First of all, I did lose the mayoral election this past March.
