The Tommy Brull Foundation has continued its mission to help those with physical, mental and emotional disabilities through the pandemic. At its 14th annual fundraiser at the St. Agnes Parish Center on Nov. 13, the foundation made donations to 13 groups and individuals, including the Backyard Players & Friends and South Side High School student Will Ryan, who was the foundation’s 2021 Courage and Resilience Award winner.

Molloy College announced on Nov. 10 that Joseph Fennessy has joined its board of trustees.
Fennessy is co-chair of the Mount Sinai South Nassau board of directors, as well as a retired partner and former chief operating officer for Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Northeast Region. During his 41-year Deloitte career, he also served as the managing partner of Deloitte’s Long Island office and partner-in-charge of the Northeast Region healthcare practice.

The Rockville Centre-based movement Ninjas 4 Vets took to the streets on Nov. 10, with a mission of spreading joy to service members on the eve of Veterans Day. Families drove around to the homes of veterans and left surprise goodie bags and personalized thank-you signs at their front doors.

Rockville Centre is experiencing power outages after a tornado brought extreme winds across the island the village and caused trees to take down power lines. In a statement Saturday evening, the village government said that it was working to bring in crews from neighboring electric departments to support their restoration efforts.
