New York City held its traditional ticker-tape parade on Tuesday, Feb. 7, to honor the New York Giants, who defeated the New England Patriots, 21-17, during Super Bow XLVI on Sunday. The eighth annual Food and Wine Tasting, a fundraiser for the Rockville Centre St. Patrick’s Parade, will take place this Friday, Jan. 27, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the St. Agnes Parish Center on North Village Avenue. To date, 31 local restaurants and businesses have agreed to donate food, wine and beer to the event. more

The youngsters at Sacred Heart School in North Merrick sure didn’t seem scary when they were all decked out in their Halloween costumes on Monday, but they certainly were cute.
