Have you heard of the Taylor Law? The county workers, MTA, teachers and police all know it well. It’s invoked when they seek more money and benefits if the powers in charge don’t accommodate them. Part of it says public employees can’t strike.

I’d like to know why Lynbrook resident Bob Barra was appointed and confirmed to be Valley Stream village clerk. This should not be legal. Our mayor and trustees have sent the message that no one in this village is more capable to do the job than a Lynbrook guy best known for bringing coffee to Dean Skelos.

This Hewlett Heights saga should not even be a topic of conversation. I am a resident of Valley Stream. Though I do not live in Gibson myself, I have grown up knowing the area very well and, additionally, have good friends who live there. To really get into the crux of the situation I would like to start from the beginning.
