I am pleased to share good news from the JFK Science Department. Kennedy students achieved 3rd place out of 35 high school teams from Nassau and Suffolk in the Protein Modeling Challenge at Stonybrook University.

This is a great accomplishment. The competition required students to build a molecular model in advance, build a second model on-site during the event, and complete a written exam. Our team spent many hours after school researching, modeling, and studying the details of a receptor protein which is critical in cancer research and treatment.
