Malverne residents and visitors to the village lined Hempstead Avenue on the evening of June 25 to catch the pagentry, fun and music of the 4th Battalion Parade. The battalion consists of fire departments from Malverne, Lakeview, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, and Rockville Centre, but departments from other areas on Long Island also joined in the fun.
Afterward, there was a big block party in the parking lots adjacent to the Malverne Cinema, featuring children’s rides and performances from the Long Island band, Mystic.
