Booster Club raises money for HS sports

On Jan. 24, the South Side High School Booster Club held its annual fundraiser, honoring those who helped promote sports at the high school and raising money for programs and scholarships.

Last year, the Booster Club gave away more than $9,000. This year’s fundraiser blew that away, raising nearly $25,000 with a sold-out ballroom at the Best Western Mill River Manor.

The Booster Club honored Turfs Up, a group of residents that worked hard to convince the Board of Education and helped them to modernize the sports facilities at the high school, as well as Coach Greg Brennan, who coaches JV Boys Soccer and Basketball.
