Bowling Green shows gratitude to police

Cathryn Maloney’s first grade class at Bowling Green Elementary School showed their appreciation for police with their handmade Cards for Cops, which will be distributed to precincts throughout the five boroughs for the holidays.

Bowling Green Elementary School students, in the East Meadow School District, expressed their gratitude for the police force by participating in Cards for Cops. Sponsoring the activity was BeyondTheBadgeNY, a nonprofit organization that promotes positivity between communities and local law enforcement.
The students spread holiday cheer to police officers by creating handmade cards. Many students took this opportunity to thank the officers for keeping them safe. The cards were picked up by an officer from BeyondTheBadgeNY and will be displayed in precincts throughout the five boroughs during the holiday season.
