Arrests

  • Kenneth L. Hernandez, 21, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island was arrested on March 23 at 10:45 and charged with being the subject of an active Rhode Island burglary warrant by Rockville Centre anti-crime personnel during an investigation on Sunrise Highway.
  • Heather A. McGillvary, 22, of Groveland, Massachusetts was arrested on March 23 at 10:45 p.m. and charged with prostitution.
  • Eddy Acosta, 24, of Providence, Rhode Island, was arrested at 10:55 p.m. on March 23 and charged with promoting prostitution.
  • Anthony A. Jones, 56, of Woodfield Road, West Hempstead, was arrested on March 28 at 11:38 p.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and vehicle traffic law violations after police say they watched him driving a 1995 Ford on Lakeview Avenue.
  • Denni Rodriguez, 35, was arrested on March 26 at S. Park Avenue and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance following an investigation by Rockville Centre anti-crime personnel.
  • Geronimo A. Ramirez, 28, of Merrick Road was arrested on March 26 at the 7-11, 324 Merrick Road after allegedly stealing a 40-ounce bottle of Coors Light beer.


Robbery

  • On March 27 at 2:20 p.m. an employee of Rite Aid on N. Village Ave. reported that a teenage boy who was about 16-years-old tried to leave the store without paying for three boxes of condoms valued at $19. Store security personnel tried to stop him, but he fled on foot with the items. The security officer's index finger was cut during the incident.

Burglary

  • On March 24, a Midfarm Road resident told police that someone forcibly entered his mother's home on Atkinson Road and ransacked it. The burglary occurred between March 21 and March 24. Losses have not yet been determined.


Larcenies

  • On March 22, a Fountain Avenue resident told police that between March 221 at 3 p.m. and the next morning at 9, lacrosse equipment was stolen from her front porch.
  • On March 23, the sales manager from Lexus Pre-Owned, 666 Sunrise Highway reported that four tires and rims from a 2010 BMW parked in the lot, valued at $4,000, were stolen between March 22 at 9 p.m. and the next morning at 7:10 a.m.
