East Meadow Boy Scouts Christopher Falkis and Zachary Ludewig were recognized for their volunteer efforts at Nassau County’s Sept. 11 memorial. The scouts earned their “Surge” badge after participating in the event.
After a ceremony at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building, County Executive Edward Mangano presented each scout with their Certificate of Merit and badge. “With the help of the Boy Scouts’ Theodore Roosevelt Council members, Nassau County’s Sept. 11 ceremony went off without a hitch,” said Mangano. “I thank our many Boy Scout volunteers for their hard work in marking this remembrance ceremony a success.”
