Tree of Life Yoga
Central Synagogue of Nassau County, 430 DeMott Ave., is sponsoring a summer "mini" session, with evening classes of yoga. The classes are open to yoga students of all levels. The Tree of Life Yoga series of five classes begins on June 29 at 7:30 p.m. The series of classes is available for $60 or you may pay as you go for $15 a class. Members of the community are invited to participate. Blood Drive at Mercy Medical Center
Mercy Medical Center invites and encourages members of the community to participate in a Blood Drive to support Long Island Blood Services on July 29 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the first floor of the St. Anne’s building on the hospital campus. Anyone between the ages of 17 and 75 who is in good health and weighs at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Healthy individuals over 75 can donate blood if they present written permission from their physician obtained within two weeks of their donation. Donors should have eaten and should bring reading glasses and ID with signature, and know their Social Security number. The Library’s Career Center is now open on Saturdays. Five computers available for your job search needs. All computers are equipped with Win-Way Resume Preparation software, MS Word and Office programs. Internet access and bookmarked job search Web sites. Register for Summer Programs
Applications for summer programs: Baseball School, Girls Basketball Clinic, Boys and Girls Lacrosse Camps, RVC Rec “Ultimate Gymnastic School,” Mad Science Camps, Cartoon-Time, Tennis Lessons, Happy Piano Adventure and assorted Gymnastics Clinics are available. Registration for Softball Leagues for men and women and Basketball Leagues for boys and girls in grades 5 and up are being accepted by the Parks and Recreation Dept. during April and May. The Summer Playground Program, in its 56th consecutive year, will be conducted from June 30 through Aug. 12 for residents in grades
1-6 (as of 9/10) and Grades 7 and 8 (as of 9/10). Registration is being accepted for these programs as well. Call the Rec Centre for schedules and fees.
Fall 2010 Nursery School
openings - Young children need the opportunity to interact with their peers in an environment geared to their needs. The Rec Center has it all. Call to make an appointment to visit. Classes being Sept. 13 and follow the same holiday schedule as the public schools. Classes offered are Pre Pre K on four mornings,two afternoons for children entering kindergarten in 2012; and Pre K classes on five mornings and three afternoons for children entering kindergarten in 2011.

AARP Defensive Driving:

The club meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. for breakfast and business. At 11 a.m., when available, guest speakers discuss topics of interest to men. A variety of trips & programs are scheduled for July and August.
