A run for heartShare
This May 16 will mark the 30th anniversary of the Buckley-Kennedy Race benefitting heartShare Human Services. The 7-mile run/walk/jogathon begins in Marine Park in Brooklyn and ends in Breezy Point at a restaurant called Kennedy's. Race numbers have dwindled in recent years partly due to the fact that many original race participants moved to the suburbs. A number of Rockville Centre residents are originally from the Brooklyn/Rockaway/Breezy Point areas and would want to know that organizers of this event are trying to raise more money than in the recent past. The man who began this event is Jimmy Buckley. Anybody wishing to get more information can www.heartshare.org/run.
