St. James United Methodist Church in Lynbrook hosts annual Arts from the Heart

St. James United Methodist Church in Lynbrook hosted its annual Arts from the Heart fundraiser, with this year’s proceeds going to the Interfaith Nutrition Network.

The entertainment included singing, guitar playing, solos, duets, the St. James Sunday School children’s choir, and group numbers — all under the musical direction of Jean Stevenson.

“This is the third year we’ve presented a February benefit at St. James UMC, and it gets better every time,” said Stevenson. “It’s delightful to have so many people from the community come share the fun with us. Then there are all these talented people, both from the church and from other organizations, who give their time and energy to a great cause.”

The Women For St. James provided a light lunch fare before the show. This year there was a new element added: offering recycled art works from the St. James Thrift Shop for whatever the buyer wanted to offer.

“It all goes to INN,” said Stevenson, “and we’re very pleased by the generous response of our audience.”
