More than 400 McVey Elementary School students attended the annual Halloween Howl and Spooky Walk on Monday night.

Organized by the McVey PTA, parents and participating students dressed in scary garbs and set up a festive walk in the all purpose room for brave souls who dared to enter. Simultaneously, students dressed as their favorite animals, superheroes and sports figures congregated in the cafeteria and danced to the rhythm of “Cotton Eye Joe” and other popular tunes.

The PTA also provided face-painting stations and raffle give-away and teamed up with local eateries that donated dinner and desserts. “All the kids loved it,” said McVey PTA President Sue Cuttone. “It was a very successful night.”

The festivities were free for all students thanks to past PTA fundraising efforts, said Cuttone.
