Oceanside’s EAT Gastropub restaurant held its first Family Fall Fest, which included free activities for area children and a pumpkin patch for a local Oceanside High School teen who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Eat Gastropub collected $600 for sophomore Kevin Artus who is currently battling cancer from pumpkin patch donations. The money was presented to his family to put towards any financial burdens due to Kevin’s condition.

Children enjoyed pumpkin decorating, arts crafts, a face-painter and balloon animals, plus cupcakes donated from Sweet Fifi Cakes, a local live band, “A Witches Brew”, and fall food and drink specials.

On Saturday, Dec. 17, from 2 to 6 p.m., EAT Gastropub will be holding its first ever Holiday Fest, this time raising funds for the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop Hospital, the public is invited.
