He's alive

To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of Paul Schlegelmilch's death, in an obituary that ran in the May 20-26 issue of the Herald, are greatly exaggerated.

Schlegelmilch, 94, is in fact very much alive and quite well. He's set to lead the 2010 Rockville Centre Memorial Day Parade — as its grand marshal— on May 31 as it winds down Maple Avenue to Veterans Memorial Park (in front of the Recreation Center on Oceanside Road) for an 11 a.m. program.

The Herald regrets the error.
