The Kiwanis Club of East Meadow awarded its annual scholarships to recent graduates of the East Meadow Union Free School District at a scholarship night on July 2. A dinner and ceremony were held at Borrelli’s Italian Restaurant in East Meadow.

Graduates from both East Meadow High School and W.T. Clarke High School received scholarships.

Juliet Cimaglia, Patricia Rivas, Mahira Ahmed and Brianna Petz were among this year’s honorees. Each were presented with a $1,000 award, which can be used for college expenses.

Scholarship recipients are chosen for their extraordinary academic and community service achievements.

The mission of Kiwanis is to help kids around the world, and the East Meadow organization is making a difference at home. Whether the club is cooking Thanksgiving dinners for those in need, sending children to Kamp Kiwanis or providing scholarships, it makes a difference in every part of the East Meadow community.
