People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

Matthew Mockus, 31, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with criminal contempt for violating an order of protection at East Walnut Street on Oct. 10.



Alfred Smith, 21, of Westbury was arrested and charged with assault, obstructing government administration and resisting arrest at East Fulton Street on Oct. 13.


Gary Roslan, 53, of Flushing was arrested and charged with violation an order of protection at the Long Beach Police Department on Oct. 15.


Richard Scuderi, 41, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with robbery at Luv My Shoes, at 2807 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, on Oct. 23. According to police, Scuderi threatened a store clerk with a cane as an accomplice took assorted jewelry.


DWI

Staci Schmeelk, 41, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at East Park Avenue and Neptune Boulevard on Oct. 14.

Michael Parker, 43, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach on Oct. 16.

Joseph Nagy, 47, of Denver, New York, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at Lido Boulevard and Regent Drive in Lido Beach on Oct. 25.
