The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at the middle school at 8 p.m. on Jan. 12.

Fall sports awards

The high school’s fall sports awards night will be held at LBHS on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m.

Holiday recess

Long Beach Public Schools will be closed for the holiday recess from Dec. 24 to Jan 1. Classes will resume on Jan. 4.

LBHS Surf Club sells reusable bottlesThe Long Beach High School Surf Club is selling reusable water bottles. These 0.75-liter bottles are $15. Net proceeds will be used to fund the club’s environmental initiatives, and to support the Surfrider Foundation and Surf Aid International.

Free screening

The Long Beach School District in conjunction with Schneider Children’s Hospital, the Jason F. Gruen Research Foundation and real estate brokers Neil Sterrer & Joe Sinnona announce the second annual free echo cardiogram screening program for 8th grade Middle School student athletes at 8 a.m. on March 20 at the Long Beach Middle School.
