Magnolia Center closed after frozen pipe 'explodes'

Facility temporarily closed amid repairs after extensive water damage

The city has temporarily closed the Magnolia Center, at 650 Magnolia Blvd., after a frozen pipe exploded at the facility and caused significant water damage overnight, according to the city's website this morning.

"Unfortunately, due to the extremely cold temperatures, a sprinkler system pipe froze and exploded at the Magnolia Center, causing significant water damage overnight. The city is currently working to make repairs and will reopen the facility as soon as possible. Please check the city's website later today for an update."

The center is home to as many as 60 wellness, cultural, educational and recreational programs for citizens aged 55 and older.
