Meadowbrook Parkway reopened after accident

A five-car accident at about 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning led to the closure of the northbound lane of the Meadowbrook Parkway at exit M5 — Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.

The road was closed for an hour and a half as state police investigated the incident. Traffic was backed up as far south as Sunrise Highway.

No major injuries have been reported.
