Memorial Day Parade information from American Legion Post 246

Come out on Monday, May 28, to honor all veterans and service men and women, and to view Baldwin’s Memorial Day parade. The parade, presented by the American Legion Baldwin Post #246,will step off at 9:30 a.m. from the Pathmark parking lot and will proceed south on Grand Avenue, concluding with a Memorial Day Ceremony at Silver Lake Park.

Here are the parade divisions:

n The first division will lead the parade,with Grand Marshall Frank Minnisale, Gold Star Mothers and Blue Star Parents escorted by the American Legion Riders, Patriot Guards, and the Forsaken Guns law enforcement motorcycle club.They will be followed by the Baldwin Middle School Marching Band, the Baldwin Post #246 color guard and all legion members.

n Second Division:Baldwin/Freeport Elks Club, Plaza school band, Community Nursery School, St. Christopher’s School and Cub Scout Pack 824, Bethlehem Lutheran Church Nursery School, Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts/Brownies/Daises and Meadow School.

n Third Division:Baldwin Public Library, Beautiful Baldwin Foundation, Baldwin Friends of Music, Women’s Advance Club, Lenox School, Baldwin Historical Society, Knights of Columbus, Masons Spartan Lodge #756, as well as Mason Veterans, Freeport, South Bay, Nassau & Wantagh Chapters & Sunrise, followed by Brookside School.

n Fourth Division:United Methodist First Church of Baldwin, Learn About Nursery School, Steele School, South Nassau Christian Center, First Presbyterian Church, Christian Family Church, Baldwin Kiwanis Club, Shubert School, Ridgewood Savings Bank and the Baldwin Civic Association.

n Fifth Division:Lead by Grand Marshall Dominic Famularo, Fire Dept. Chief Chris Schwenker, Jr. followed by Fire Department Chiefs, Baldwin High School Marching Band, and Hose Companies 1, 2, 3 and 4, Ladder Companies 1 and 2 and BFD First Aid Company.

The judging/reviewing stand will be on the steps of the library — parade judges are Ginny Foley, Barbara Fullerton and Jill Rivera.
