Oceanside man arrested for 7-11 robbery

An Oceanside man was arrested early Tuesday morning following a robbery at a 7-11 convenience store on Atlantic Avenue.

Police say that at 5:20 a.m., Anthony Candelaria, 38, of Kenneth Place, entered the store located at 65 Atlantic Avenue and removed 20 boxes of cigarettes from behind the counter. Candelaria allegedly threatened the store clerk before leaving without paying.

He was arrested by police shortly after without incident and charged with third-degree robbery. Candelaria is scheduled for arraignment on August 14, at First District Court in Hempstead.
