Nassau County police officers arrested Jason Triolo and Beth Aniello, both 33, of North Bellmore, for allegedly attempting to use a stolen credit card to buy $3,900 worth of jewelry on Sept. 17 at Zuckerman’s Jewelry on Merrick Road in Merrick.

A Zuckerman’s worker called 911 after the pair — who reside at the same address — tried using a credit card and the identification of another woman to make the purchase, police said. Triolo and Aniello had stolen the credit card and ID from a vehicle parked outside South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, according to police. Officers arrived at Zuckerman’s and located Triolo and Aniello around the corner, on Frankel Boulevard south of Merrick Road. Police reported that the pair were also in possession of stolen items from Jones Beach State Park.

The defendants are charged with third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, according to police. Triolo also faces two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, an additional count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and possession of burglar tools, police said.

A spokesman for District Attorney Kathleen Rice said Triolo and Aniello were arraigned on Sept. 18 at Nassau County District Court in Hempstead. Judge Joy Watson set Triolo’s bail at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond, and she set Aniello’s bail at $500 cash or $1,000 bond, the DA’s spokesman said. He said the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County represented them at their arraignment. The Legal Aid Society does not comment on cases.
