Nassau County and Long Beach police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in connection with a grand larceny that occurred in Long Beach last month.

Police said that on Monday, Dec. 7, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the suspect was in Stop & Shop, at 85 E. Park Ave. While in the store, he stole a woman’s wallet out of her pocketbook that contained credit cards and approximately $60 in cash, police said.

According to police, a short time later, the man fraudulently used one of the victim’s credit cards to make purchases twice in Oceanside, and an attempted purchase was also made in Franklin Square.

The suspect fled the scene as a passenger in a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a newer model Nissan Murano, headed in an unknown direction, police said.

Crime Stoppers is asking anyone who can identify the subject, or provide any information about the crime to call (800) 244-TIPS (8477), or Detective Menendez at the Long Beach Police Department, at (516) 705-7320. All calls will remain anonymous.
