Rockville Centre girl scouts helping the hungry and homeless

On April 21, Girl Scout Troop 826, comprised of fourth graders from Wilson Elementary School raised more than $1,100 for The Interfaith Nutrition Network in Hempstead. Troop 826 actively collected and personally provided donations which sold at a garage sale whose proceeds went to The Inn.

Founded in 1983 as a single soup kitchen, The INN now has 19 pantries operating as part of its network across Long Island. More than 7,500 people are fed each week by this private social service agency.
