Seaford celebrates new businesses

Posted

Two small shops held their grand openings last Friday and officially opened up for business — Uniquely Yours, a women’s clothing boutique, and All Star Physical Therapy, both on Merrick Road in Seaford.

Elected officials including State Sen. Michael Venditto, Legislator Steven Rhoads and Town Clerk Nasrin Ahmad attended the ribbon-cutting ceremonies.

“My partner and I had a location up in Syosset and we decided to open up here in Seaford to help provide high quality care to the community,” co-owner of All Star Physical Therapy Michael Brigandi said. “We just want to be able to rehabilitate and get people back to their normal activities and daily living.”

Due to the success in Syosset, co-owners Brigandi and Chris Kimball decided to bring the business to the South Shore. All Star Physical Therapy provides services such as ACL and ligament reconstruction, meniscus repairs, strength and conditioning, preoperative education, arthroscopic procedures and crutch training to those with both major and minor injuries.

“This has just been unbelievable, I was not expecting this at all,” Brigandi said about the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “It was very overwhelming but a nice overwhelming, too.”

Members from the Seaford Chamber of Commerce were also in attendance at the event to congratulate the owners and welcome the new businesses to Seaford.

“We don’t have any family women’s clothing, which is youth to plus sizes,” chamber Secretary Karen Cass said, referring to the opening of Uniquely Yours. “Now mothers and daughters can shop together. It’s also a good way to buy gifts for someone during the year for a birthday or another holiday.”

With clothing boutiques a rare commodity in the area, Uniquely Yours is a contemporary clothing shop that caters to women of all sizes.

With new businesses bursting up everywhere, community members are happy to see that the economy is thriving in their small town.

“My family is patients of the physical therapy business and although they’ve been here for a while, we never got around to having a ribbon-cutting ceremony,” Cass said. “We only have one other physical therapy in the town, so there is definitely a need for it.

“I think that they both are going to have long and flourishing businesses here in Seaford,” Cass added.
