Skelos, Curran, McCarthy leading

State Senator Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre), Assembly candidate Brian Curran (R-Lynbrook), and Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy were leading their rivals as results trickled in from the Board of Elections early Wednesday morning.
McCarthy had 55 percent of the vote with nearly 40 percent of the precincts reporting. Skelos had more than 68 percent of the vote, with his challenger, George Sava, 32 percent. And Curran had almost 62 percent of the vote over his challenger, Democrat Dermond Thomas.
