Central High School senior Marcelle Little Dawes recently learned that she has been awarded Pace University’s Homer S. Pace Medal that recognizes students with high SAT and GPA performance, perseverance and motivation. The selection is limited to one student per school and the recipient must meet the mandatory minimum requirements of a 90 average and a 1,200 score on the critical reading and math portions of the SAT.

Dawes, a Valley Stream resident, hopes to pursue a career in business. Nominated students will be presented with the Homer S. Pace Medal and a portfolio at a dinner and awards ceremony at Pace University on Oct. 29.
