Festive tree lighting to kick-off holidays

The night sky was filled with colorful lights on Dec. 2 in Seaford, as the Seaford Fire Department hosted their annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The event was the tree lighting’s 50th anniversary, and hundreds gathered to watch the festivities. The crowd was thoroughly entertained by the fire truck parade while getting into the holiday spirit with cookies and hot chocolate. The Seaford High School Band and Chorus provided musical entertainment, while Downstage Dance put on an exhilarating dance performance. There was even an opportunity for kids to meet Santa on his sleigh.

The night ended with a dazzling Christmas tree lighting, and event planner Peter Lochner stood on the stage to thank the hundreds of attendees for coming to the annual tree lighting ceremony.
