Malverne families spread out blankets and lawn chairs at Harris Field on July 24 for the village’s annual Midsummer Movie Night, where residents gathered to watch Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers under the stars.
The free community event, co-sponsored by Malverne Little League, featured popcorn along with candy, food and refreshments available at the concession stand as children and parents settled in for an evening of outdoor entertainment.
The movie night marked the return of one of the Village of Malverne’s most popular summer traditions after last year’s successful showing of Mufasa: The Lion King. Village officials have continued to build on the event as part of the annual Summer Events Series, which offers concerts, live theater and family-friendly activities designed to bring neighbors together throughout the season.
The Summer Events Series continues through the summer with additional performances, including concerts at Gazebo Park and Junie B. Jones: The Musical at Westwood Park, before concluding with a Billy Joel tribute concert by the Cold Spring Harbor Band in September.
