New York City held its traditional ticker-tape parade on Tuesday, Feb. 7, to honor the New York Giants, who defeated the New England Patriots, 21-17, during Super Bow XLVI on Sunday. Giants fans from far and wide, including fans from Bellmore and Merrick, joined in the fun. A massive storm dumped nearly 10 inches of rain on the Merrick-Bellmore area from Saturday night into Sunday afternoon, flooding the Meadowbrook Parkway and homes throughout the community. At the storm’s height, rain was falling at a rate of more than an inch an hour. more

The ensemble included Arian Ghez on oboe, Adrian Morejon on bassoon, Amy I-Lin Cheng on piano, Eveline Kuhn on flute, Cyrus Beroukhim on violin and Arash Amini on cello. more
