The Kiwanis Club of East Meadow ran a successful food drive, which all came together during a tremendous weekend of giving back to those in need. Volunteers from the club and W.T. Clarke’s High School’s Key Club helped assemble 165 baskets of food.

This past weekend, the East Meadow community showed its support for veterans. At the Green Turtle, Fighters of Fire Motorcycle Club and the American Legion Post 1082 hosted a food and turkey drive for homeless veterans.

Tom McKevitt was re-elected to his fourth term in the Nassau County Legislature on Tuesday. The East Meadow resident is a familiar face in Nassau politics, and come January, he’ll serve the newly drawn 13th District, which now includes all of East Meadow, Salisbury, and part of North Levittown.
