From portraits to waterfalls, artists gathered at the East Meadow Public Library on Dec. 10 to showcase their talents. The artists were welcomed for the annual Invitational Art Show held at the library every December. With many pieces for sale, the show boasts being the perfect opportunity for holiday gift giving — each piece one of a kind.

East Meadow artist Cassandra Jones has brought the spirit of the holidays to life once again to the Huntington Holiday Spectacular. People from all over Long Island have flocked to Huntington’s downtown to see a 75-foot-tall Christmas tree, an abundance of holiday décor — and Jones’s painted snowflakes.

A few weeks after the event, the Kiwanis Club of East Meadow is reflecting on another successful holiday dinner for seniors and veterans in the community. This year, under a new name, the Frank Saracino Memorial Senior & Military Dinner served roughly 300 people in the gymnasium of East Meadow High School in late November.

Military families from the local communities shared a hot meal on Dec. 3 at Borrelli’s Italian Restaurant in East Meadow. The event was organized by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and along with food, there were plenty of fun activities for children and their families to enjoy at the celebration.
