A motorist lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a utility pole and then a tree at the intersection of Broadway and Cooperbeach Lane in Lawrence as he headed east on Broadway at 7:45 a.m. on March 4, according to Nassau County police and Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department officials, who responded to the scene.
