A winter storm warning will be in effect for all of Long Island from now through Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. An area of low pressure over the Atlantic Ocean will sweep into the region as a nor'easter this afternoon, bringing with it heavy snow after 5 p.m. and heavy winds. For the fourth time in March, the National Weather Service was predicting that a nor'easter would blow into the Long Island Region. This one was expected to hit Wednesday. Much more snow fell on the Five Towns, at least up to 8 inches, and power outages occured.

Power restored to nearly all customers across Long Island and Far Rockaway

PSEG Long Island is reporting about 299 of its nearly 1.1 million customers across Long Island and the Rockaways are currently without electric service. Any remaining customers will be restored by midnight. more
