Emil Stucchio and The Classics entertained the audience on the beach at Hewlett Point as part of the Town of Hempstead’s musical Summer Series on July 13. Stucchio has lived in East Rockaway since 1964. Even a 10-minute downpour shortly into the performance couldn’t damped the crowd’s enthusiasm, and soon the clouds parted as the group sang standards from the 50s and 60s. more

Sieban, who died suddenly on July 3 from acute pancreatitis. He was 49. more

Residents, friends and family members are grieving over the loss of East Rockaway Mayor Edward Sieban, who died unexpectedly on July 3 after a brief stay at Winthrop University Hospital. Sieban was 49. The cause of death was acute pancreatitis. more
