Two Baldwin residents were arrested after a shooting inside a local home left a 28-year-old woman injured, according to Nassau County police.

Police said Alfredo Gonzalez, 43, got into an argument with a 25-year-old man outside the home at 11:50 p.m. Sept 22. Gonzalez pushed through the front door, displayed a gun and fired one shot inside, according to police.

The bullet grazed the woman’s leg before striking a kitchen stove. She was taken to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

Police said Gonzalez fled in a car driven by Donna Perez, 47. Investigators, with assistance from Suffolk County police, later found the vehicle, Gonzalez and Perez in Suffolk County and arrested both without incident.

Gonzelez was charged with second-degree criminal use of a fireman, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree attempted assault, second-degree assault, first-degree burglary, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.

Perez was charged with second-degree hindering prosecution.

Gonzalez and Perez were arraigned Sept. 23 in First District Court in Hempstead.
