If any team were to define dynasty, it would be the Calhoun High School girls' badminton squad. The team, led by coach Gregg Muscarella, is 138-5 in matches over the past nine years. In that time, the Colts have won six county championships, as well as eight Conference I titles.

The East Meadow Soccer Club’s U11 Girls Travel Program (for children born between Aug. 1, 1999 and July 31, 2000) is looking to create a third team that will play in a lower division -- 5, 6 or 7 -- of the Long Island Junior Soccer League, to compliment its two upper division teams that now play in Divisions 1 and 3. The GU11 program will hold its final tryout of 2010 on Sunday, June 13, at 5:30 p.m.

The Bellmore Little League hosted its annual Memorial Day Weekend Girls Fastpitch Tournament at Newbridge Road Park, and coming out on top in its division was the U12 Blue Fire squad from Bellmore, which defeated the Diamond Dolls from Pelham Bay in the Bronx to take the championship. The Bellmore Little League thanked Dan Lino and Sammy Akiel from Newbridge Park for maintaining the fields throughout the weekend.
