Seniors and their dates gathered at homes across Bellmore-Merrick to prepare for prom last Thursday. The Basiles of Bellmore hosted about 20 Kennedy High School couples, who gathered to chat over food with their friends and classmates as parents snapped photos. The house, located on the water, made for a beautiful evening. more
The hard work of Bellmore-Merrick students, teachers and administrators has garnered national recognition as all three Central District high schools –– Calhoun, Kennedy and Mepham –– ranked in the top 300 of Newsweek’s America’s Best High Schools of 2011. more
Much was the same about this year’s Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District graduation ceremonies on Sunday. Seniors came attired in their caps and gowns –– blue robes for Calhoun, green for Kennedy and red for Mepham. Excited parents showered their now adult children with flowers and balloons, and snapped hundreds of photos. more
