Beatrice Brown, a senior at John F. Kennedy High School in Bellmore, was recently selected to take part in the National Association for Music Education All-National High School Concert Band. Brown, a flutist, is the first Kennedy student to be selected for the honor and the first instrumental student selected in the district’s history. more
Of all the moments in a school year, David Seinfeld, former principal of Calhoun High School, now the Bellmore-Merrick Central District’s assistant superintendent for instruction, said he loves the half-hour after graduation most of all. He enjoys watching families snapping photos of and hugging their proud graduates. more
Kennedy Sports Boosters was reinvented this past school year. A small group of interested parents, led by Bob Pizzimenti, began meeting and discussing how to best serve the school’s student athletes in a supportive role. Over the past year Kennedy Sports Boosters grew from eight to 130 members. more
