For a moment, I stopped paddling and took in Merrick Bay, its virtually still surface glistening in the morning sunlight. In the distance, the Jones Beach water tower and amphitheater stood out amid a light haze. The view was, in a word, breathtaking. more

Calhoun Sports Boosters get out and golf

The Calhoun Sports Boosters Club held its eighth annual golf outing on June 27. Some 160 golfers attended, playing the Blue Course at Bethpage State Park. The foursome from Meroke Auto & Collision had the winning score. The guests of honor included past boosters president and vice president Keith and Cheryl Pastuch. Gregg Muscarella, Calhoun’s wrestling and badminton coach, was also given special recognition.
