Bellmores flip for Kiwanis' pancakes

The Bellmore Kiwanis Club hosted its 35th Annual Pancake Breakfast recently, and club Secretary Seth Meyerowitz said that it was one of the most successful in a number of years.

The breakfast, which was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bellmore, attracted a few hundred community members, Meyerowitz said. In addition to an “all-you-can-eat” pancake, bacon and sausage breakfast, 20 raffles were awarded. All funds raised go directly to the Kiwanis fund, which Meyerowitz said helps those in the community, as well as Kamp Kiwanis. The money helps children attend the two-week camp who would otherwise not be able to afford it.

The Kennedy and Mepham Key clubs helped serve food, and Meyerowitz said the Bellmore Kiwanis thanked everybody who turned out in support of the cause and helped. He also extended a special thank you to Walter Andersen, who organized the breakfast.
