Downtown Bellmore transformed into a sea of costumes and color on Oct. 25, when The Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores hosted its annual Halloween parade, trunk-or-treat and carnival.
Costumed children and families kicked off the parade in front of the Bellmore Movies on Pettit Avenue before making their way up Bedford Avenue. Along the route, participating merchants welcomed trick-or-treaters with candy and other goodies.
After the parade, the festivities continued in the Long Island Rail Road parking lot, where attendees enjoyed a trunk-or-treat and fair. Halloween characters mingled among the crowd, and children lined up for face painting, balloon animals and temporary tattoos. A lively magic show added to the fun, delighting kids of all ages.
The annual parade and carnival highlighted the chamber’s ongoing efforts to bring the community together through family-friendly celebrations that also support local businesses.
