Ayn Rand's acclaimed but rarely performed play, the stirring courtroom drama in which the audience is involved as part of the jury, is presented in conjunction with Hofstra University's 75th anniversary celebration, Jan. 14-23, at Hofstra's Helene Fortunoff Theater, located at the Monroe Lecture Center.

The story involves the murder of Bjorn Faulkner, who appears to be a successful international tycoon and head of a vast financial empire. His mistress, Karen Andre, is on trial for his murder. There is no conclusion; the verdict is decided by a jury selected from the audience during the performance. By design, the evidence presented is such that the decision must rest on the jurors’ fundamental attitude toward life and toward man’s potential for greatness.

The cast includes members of the legal profession, including (seated above) the Honorable Dana Winslow, Supreme Court Judge, Nassau County. Following every performance, legal commentary/discussion will be provided by attorneys from the Nassau County Bar

Association.

Tickets are $25, $22 seniors, $18 students; available at (516) 463-6644.
