Students at Reinhard Early Childhood Center took center stage in March as part of Music in Our Schools Month, celebrating with a series of themed activities designed to highlight different musical styles.

Throughout the month, students in the Bellmore School District participated in weekly themes that encouraged them to explore music in creative ways. At Reinhard, Rising Star Leaders embraced each theme by dressing the part and engaging with the spirit of the genre.

One week focused on country music, with students wearing blue jeans, flannel shirts, boots and cowboy hats. Another theme highlighted different decades of music, and on March 27, students arrived in tie-dye shirts, leather jackets and gold chains to represent a variety of musical eras.

District officials said music education plays a key role in student development, helping reinforce leadership skills and core values. Through songs and activities, students learn lessons in teamwork, dedication and synergy.

Music in Our Schools Month is observed nationwide each March to recognize the importance of music education and its impact on student learning.
