New York American Water announced on July 10 that the company will invest $700,000 to install a new 8-inch ductile iron water main along East and West Boulevards in East Rockaway. The new water main will replace 2- and 6-inch water mains that were installed in the 1920s. The project will also include the replacement of two fire hydrants and 85 utility-owned service lines.
