Lucy Acosta, a senior at Hempstead High School, emigrated from Honduras when she was 6 years old. She had to work hard to learn English. She says she feels comfortable among students who were born abroad as well as in the U.S., but she knows that not everyone does. Her article looks at ways to unite the two groups of students.
