Lynbrook man wins L.I. Marathon

Lynbrook resident Shaun McGrath, 32, won the Long Island Marathon with a finishing time 2:39. Last year he finished in eighth place with a time of 2:57. “I felt confident,” said McGrath, who works out seven days a week to prepare for his run. “It was very warm toward the second half of the marathon, but I felt strong.” more

Making A SPLASH in Bay Park waters

Extreme amounts of shoreline trash have been reported by residents of East Rockaway and Bay Park. Coffee cups, water bottles, and assorted litter can also be seen all over Long Island’s south shore waterways.
