Vehicle crashes into Merrick Road store

On Saturday, January 16, at approximately 1:20 p.m., the Lynbrook Fire Department, under the command of Chief Kevin Bien, responded to a reported that a car had jumped the curb and travelled into a building at the intersection of Merrick Road and Crab Avenue in Lynbrook.

The department's Extrication Team and an ambulance from the Emergency Medical Company responded. The driver of the vehicle, a senior citizen, was travelling on Merrick Road, opposite North Middle School, when she jumped the curb and smashed into the front window of Vincent's Italian-American Delicatessen.

The woman driver was helped from the vehicle by store personnel and was treated by the fire medics who transported her to an area hospital.
